Nutrition Programs

Senior Nutrition Programs consist of both congregate and home-delivered nutrition services which help to reduce hunger, promote socialization and through better nutrition, assist older adults to remain healthy and independent in their communities.  Each meal provided contains at least one-third of the current daily Dietary Guidelines.  Donations are accepted for all meals, but service will not be denied if participant cannot or does not wish to contribute. Contributions are used by the nutrition programs to serve more meals.

Congregate Nutrition Services provide a nutritious meal in a community setting. In addition, the congregate setting provides socialization and nutrition education.

Home delivered meals provides a nutritious meal to older adults who are 60 or over, homebound, unable to cook a nutritious meal and do not have anyone willing or able to assist with their meals.  Services help to maintain or improve the health status of individuals and prevent premature institutionalization.  Hot, cold or frozen meals may be provided depending on location.
