How to Apply

ALTC Application Requirements

ALTC requires all job seekers to submit an ALTC Employment Application in order to be considered for an interview.  While you can still submit a resume as supplemental information, we screen applicants based on the information that is in their application, not on their resume.

We ask that you fill out the application as thoroughly as possible to ensure that all of your experience, knowledge, and skills are captured.  Include all education and experience (hours worked per week, and the month, day, and year of employment).

Why this matters
ALTC uses the application in order to screen and score applicants as equitably and fairly as possible.

We use information, such as how many hours applicants have spent working in clinical settings, to be able to determine how much experience a candidate has and plug it into our screening matrix.

We understand this takes extra time for applicants to fill out, as opposed to simply submitting a resume.  We strive to ensure that all applicant experience is submitted and represented in a way that we can fairly screen.

Education Requirements

Minimum qualifications for ALTC positions are set by program standards and funding sources at the State level, and they cannot be waived.  Applicants that do not meet the minimum qualifications will not be considered.

Please read the job description for the position you are applying for carefully.

If the minimum qualifications of a job require a Bachelor's degree in a qualifying Social Services field, we are limited in the educational background we can accept due to our program and funding sources.

Here are examples of degrees we look for in successful candidates:

  • Social Work
  • Psychology
  • Social Services
  • Human Services
  • Counseling
  • Gerontology

When Are Applications Due?

Applications must be received by noon on the closing date posted.  No applications will be accepted after this deadline regardless of the postmarked date.

Supplemental Documentation

What supplemental documentation should be submitted with your Application:

  1. Diploma or  Transcript showing your degree
    • Please make sure that any copy, scan, or picture of these documents are clear and are able to be easily read.
  2. Letter of Recommendation or  Performance Evaluation
    • Letters of Recommendation should be from a supervisor (past or present) and on letterhead with a signature.
    • We will not accept Letters of Recommendation from co-workers or personal references.
    • Performance Evaluations can be from the past few years (3 to 4 years)
  3. Resume

  4. Professional License, Certificate, or other pertinent documents related to the position's requirements
    • e.g.  Nurse License Verification, LCSW/LICSW, etc.

Requested File Types:

ALTC prefers to receive documents in PDF format whenever possible.

We can accept Microsoft Word documents but will not accept .pages format as they require conversion before they are viewable.

If you are sending images of documents:

Please make sure to attach the original/full resolution size of pictures.  When sending images through email (especially through cell phones), some email applications will try to re-size the images to a smaller resolution and they will come through too small to be viewable.

How to submit your Application

There are two options to complete an application. Please choose one of the following:

1.  Complete the online ALTC Employment Application at the bottom of this section.

Please note:  information will not be saved if the browser is closed before submission.

Interview Process

If you are selected to move forward with an interview:

ALTC staff will contact candidates within three (3) days of the close of a job posting to schedule the interview.  ALTC conducts most interviews through Zoom, and interviews take approximately 40 minutes to complete.

After all interviews are completed, it may take approximately a week (sometimes a little longer) to complete reference checks, background checks, and finish up communication with candidates for job offers.

We appreciate applicants' patience during the interview and hiring process.  ALTC will email all candidates to let them know the final hiring decision as soon as we are able.

If you are not selected to move forward with an interview, ALTC staff will send an email to notify you.
